Keep up the excellent work! I too have a similar goal in mind. In 2010, I’m going to be riding for a charity. My goal is currently 1,000 miles, but that is likely to increase. I currently have it narrowed down to 5 charities, one of which is LLS. If you’re interested, check out my blog (ridingforareason.wordpress.com).

i found your blog on blogcatalog when i was looking for others blogging about cancer (like i am)… i just wanted to thank you for all of the work you’ve done! i was recently diagnosed with hodgkin’s lymphoma, my mom had breast cancer 10 years ago, and my little brother had osteosarcoma and ewings sarcoma 5 & 8 years ago. it’s wonderful to read about someone who has done so much to raise money and help children (mac-a-wish is amazing – my little brother would have loved something like that when he was in the hospital – he missed almost an entire year of school and was taught by my mother)

I noted that your list of essentials is much like my list for “every ride”, with the exception of preference for a pump over CO2 canisters, and lack of tubes, tire levers and multi-tool. May I suggest that you always carry these items as well?
