Here’s My Ride
2007 marked the return of cycling in my life and becoming an endurance athlete, which is a very nice way of saying I park my ass on a bike and pedal long distances on purpose. I don’t do this because I think this is the best way to travel long distances (it lacks a driver and room service), I do it because I believe that in my own way, I can make a difference by fundraising to support various cancer related causes. I like to ride my bicycle, bicycle! Goals for 2008
Like everyone else this month, I’m reviewing my goals for the coming year. For the most part they are realizations of what could have done better in terms of cycling.
I’m a firm believer that results go with goals and goals are accomplished by being able to track your progress and results. So far, my goals have been specific events, they still are, and for 2008 I’ve added more events then the two I did in 2007. What I did not do is track my miles.

Cycling Legend On The Big Screen
We are a very exciting couple, Dave and I. We spent New Years eve at home, basting a turkey and watching movies, among them was The Flying Scotsman, the true story of Graeme Obree.
I have to admit, I was really in the mood for chick flicks but this was a great movie. Not only is it about a world class cyclist and his climb against all odds (small town guy, homemade bike, etc), but it tells a fabulous story about his personal challenge against his own mental illness while beating world records.
Would the average movie goer who doesn’t cycle give it a thumbs up? I am sure they would unless they have a heart two sizes too small.
